SocialFuse Festival 2023 – Monday 4th to Sunday 10th September

After the success of our inaugural event in 2022, SocialFuse Festival is back again celebrating the collective impact that our local voluntary, community organisations and social enterprises bring to Derbyshire – putting people, purpose and planet first.

The Festival runs from Monday 4th to Sunday 10th September, and we have three main events planned.

SocialFuse Conference – Tuesday 5th September, Casa Hotel, Chesterfield.

The theme of the conference is Collaborative Communities – an exploration of how individuals and groups can take an initial idea and grow it into something larger and sustainable with the help of their networks and communities.

The Conference is free and will consist of talks from guest speakers, workshop sessions, and a two-course lunch at the Casa Hotel’s delicious Cocina Restaurant!

Peak District Wellbeing & Networking Walk – Wednesday 6th September

This walk centred around the Chatsworth Estate will be led by Gillian Scotford – Director of AccessibleUK.

Gillian is the founder of the Accessible Derbyshire website and has a love of the outdoors. In 2013 Gillian published The Golden Miles book in honour of her disabled sons Sam and Tom. Featuring walks through the Derbyshire Peak District, profits from the book raised funds for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

Tickets for the walk are priced at £40 each which will be donated in full to Bluebell Wood.

Andrew’s of Tideswell have provided us with an accessible coach which will pick us up from Casa Hotel car park on Wednesday morning and take us to the start location of the walk. We’ll then be collected at the end of the day by the coach and returned to Casa Hotel.

A huge thank you to Andrew’s for donating their coach free of charge enabling us to donate the money we would have paid for the coach to Bluebell Wood.

Chesterfield SOUP – Friday 8th September – DVA Hub @ Low Pavements, Chesterfield

Providing micro grants to local community-based projects to make ideas a reality, over a simple supper dinner.

We’ll get to hear pitches from community leaders telling us about their project – existing or concept idea.

The money each attendee pays on the door goes towards a pot of money which our successful pitcher will receive.

It’s a bit like Dragons Den, but you get to vote who takes away the money whilst enjoying a bowl of soup and networking with like-minded individuals.

Our hosts for the event are Derbyshire Voluntary Action at their Community Hub on Low Pavements in Chesterfield.
