We are pleased to be holding an event on the 7th March 2020, in collaboration with Chesterfield Museum and Art Gallery, celebrating International Women’s Day and British Science Week.

International Women’s Day (March 8th) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. This year’s theme is #EachForEqual, reminding us we are all parts of a whole. Our individual actions, conversations, behaviours and mindsets can have an impact on our larger society. Collectively, we can make change happen. Collectively, we can each help to create an equal world.

British Science Week takes place between the 6th and 15th March, and is a ten-day celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths. This year’s theme is the celebration of our diverse planet – anything from biological diversity and social diversity, to the diversity of knowledge and careers.

We will be providing a range of hands-on activities for all the family including coding, robotics, and paper marbling.

We’ll also be adding our own extraordinary women posters to the current exhibition, focusing on women who have been pioneers within the world of science and technology.

All activities are free.
