Accessibility and inclusivity are foundational parts of our work at Kakou, but we believe building a more welcoming future for all goes beyond just accessibility – it means presenting people with new opportunities and ideas that they may never have considered before.
Therefore we’re excited to have been a part of Junction Arts’ This Girl Codes project this year!
This Girl Codes is an ambitious programme that aims to empower women of all ages in and around Derbyshire by presenting them with a range of Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths and Arts events at various historical heritage sites.
We joined This Girl Codes in late July for a trip to the historical Bletchley Park; and provided music-making and coding sessions at Creswell Crags.
Our many partners, collaborators and friends in the small world of Derbyshire Social Enterprising have always been a point of pride, and we’re always happy to lend a hand to causes that work parallel to our vision of inclusivity.
